Brother Carlos was my friend. Carlos invited me to go to Colombia with him and his dear mother. That trip changed my life. That is where I met my husband. Carlos was the best man and translator in our wedding. We celebrated his wedding with Carlos and his beautiful wife. Carlos loved the kingdom of God and expressed it with his words. actios and generosity. He and his family will always hold a special place in my heart. We will all be reunited soon.

I have not met anyone with such compassion for the disabled and grieving souls as Brother Carlos Henao. He visited the sick and the injured. Bro Henao and his wife visited my husband in ICU and fed him homemade soup. My husband never forgot that. He and his wife ministered to both me and my husband after my many operations. They helped us move. They went on outreach. His heart was for the Lord Jesus at all times. He is with the Lord, no more pain, no more suffering. He has won his race and received his reward!

GBY Sister Liliana. Our deepest condolences on the passing of your husband. We were very good friends back when we lived in Queens and we traveled to Canada together several times. On one of those occasions—in 1987 or ’88—while returning from Montreal, we were detained for several hours at the U.S. border; being young Colombians driving a nearly brand-new Camaro (which belonged to Carlos), we fit a certain profile . Thank God they eventually let us go and did not impound the car, as they had threatened to do. He was also a prison volunteer with me and he used to be my translator into English, a very good one. He was also the best man in my wedding in Montreal. We will see him in God’s coming for his church

There are not enough words to express our sorrow and sadness we share with the loss of our precious brother and friend. Bro Henao was a wonderful human being; loving, kind and caring to everyone whom he knew. He was very passionate in the things he believed in and did his best for everyone. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Our deepest and sincere condolences to Sis Henao, Liz and Joshua. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I will miss our in person, Facetime and phone conversations. I wish and I know he also would have wished he was still here with us but God chose to call him home at this time. See you on the other side my friend…

Brother Henao, was a true man of God whom never met a stranger. He always made people feel welcomed and appreciated. He and his wife were a team, their ministry spoke volumes to all of us because they knew how to love on people regardless of race, creed, or color. He came to New Year’s Eve service fighting his own battle with cancer, but still prayed for others to be healed. May God wrap his loving arms of mercy around his wife, children and family to bring much comfort to them all during this most difficult time.
