Biography:
Luis Ovalle died on November 28, 2025. He was 70 years old. Luis Ovalle falleció el 28 de noviembre de 2025 a la edad de 70 años.
He was born on August 25, 1955, in Bocas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Ceferino Ovalle and Zenaida Niño and lived in Houston, Texas for most of his adult life. He was a carpenter by trade from the age of 15, and was known for his silly humor, his charisma, his tenacity, and most of all his unending love for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching boxing, the music of Rigo Tovar, making wrestling poses to embarrass his kids, and collecting model cars. From the age of 15 to 18 he was also a lucha libre wrestler known as “Gacelita Ovalle,” which he was very proud of.
He is survived by his nine children: Jose Luis, Rebeca, Raul, Julio Cesar, Andrea, Luis, Luis Antonio, Alejandra Isabel, and Ana Luisa. He is also survived by his 22 grandchildren: Giovanni, Alan, Aileen, Jose, Arath, Madai, Jesus, Valeria, Daniela, Gabriela, Luis Fernando, Mia, Valentina, Victoria, Aluna, Yehuda, Israel, Andrew, Liam, Luis Adrian, Marcello, and Ruby.
His funeral will be held at Del Pueblo Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 from 4 to 9 pm. There will be a blessing of the body by a deacon at 5 pm. He will be cremated and a smaller memorial for him will be held with his ashes at St. Jerome Catholic Church at a later date.

Nació el 25 de agosto de 1955 en Bocas, San Luis Potosí, México, hijo de Ceferino Ovalle y Zenaida Niño, y vivió en Houston, Texas, la mayor parte de su vida adulta. Desde los 15 años, fue carpintero de profesión y se destacó por su humor, carisma, tenacidad y, sobre todo, por su inagotable amor por sus hijos y nietos. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia, ver boxeo, la música de Rigo Tovar, hacer poses de lucha libre para avergonzar a sus hijos y coleccionar autos a escala. De los 15 a los 18 años también fue luchador de lucha libre, conocido como “Gacelita Ovalle”, de lo que se sentía muy orgulloso.
Le sobreviven sus nueve hijos: José Luis, Rebeca, Raúl, Julio César, Andrea, Luis, Luis Antonio, Alejandra Isabel y Ana Luisa. También le sobreviven sus 22 nietos: Giovanni, Alan, Aileen, José, Arath, Madai, Jesús, Valeria, Daniela, Gabriela, Luis Fernando, Mia, Valentina, Victoria, Aluna, Yehuda, Israel, Andrew, Liam, Luis Adrián, Marcello y Ruby.
Su funeral se celebrará en Del Pueblo Funeral Home el martes 2 de diciembre de 2025, de 4:00 pm a 9:00 pm. Un diácono bendecirá el cuerpo a las 5:00 pm. Será incinerado y posteriormente se realizará un pequeño homenaje con sus cenizas en St. Jerome Catholic Church.
