Biography:

Born May 27,1951 in Houston Texas Peacefully left this world on October 15,2024.

Lidia leaves behind her older sister, Elida Espinoza Ortiz, her only brother Jesse Espinoza (Elizabeth). Her daughters: Christine & Anna. Grandchildren: Toni, Valerie, Joshua and Jeremy. Great grandchildren: Mila, Norrin, Skylar and Logan.
She had a very special place in her heart for her nephew Ernest Ortiz.
Preceded in death by her parents O.B. & Tomasa Espinoza and niece, Jessica Espinoza Howard.
She leaves behind numerous family and friends.
Special thank you to Mary Hernandez.

Lidia studied cosmetology and acquired her state license at an early age. She worked in various salons and beauty shops in and around the Heights area. Throughout the years she developed a loyal following of clients and made many friends along the way. Things she enjoyed were cooking, decorating her home, and spending time with family. Her real passions included listening to music, dancing, and gambling. As Tejano and Conjunto music were her favorite she would travel just about anywhere for a festival, concert or dance. Her second love was playing games of chance. Be it just playing Bingo or cards with family, games at the church bizarre or just the occasional Lotto ticket. She especially enjoyed the game rooms and traveling to the casinos to play “Las Maquinitas” as she called it. Lidia has touched many lives and is known for her kind and giving sprit. Her generosity has helped many souls and will not be soon forgotten.

Dance with the Angels, my friend! You will be missed by one and all. You had a heart as big as the mountains and you were always there for us. I want you to know that I’m so sorry I can’t be there today but I’m there in spirit, I thank God that I was able to come and see you when I did before you lost your fight & what a fight you put up. Wonderful memories we have to treasure our dances, Parties, trips, even making tamales which I had more masa on me than on the shuck. Rest in peace, my friend.

    Aunt Lydia,
Sorry to have not seen you sooner. I will truly miss our talks through Facebook. Losing you and Aunt Helen was way to close… But know that you two will cross paths in Heaven. I know I see you in my mom, but now I will see you in her. I know your not in pain now and you will brighten up the Heavens with your witt and love. RIP love you.
