Tributes and Condolences

Although I never said it to him directly, I loved him. Although I may not have been a part of his family, he was apart of mine. One thing I can promise him, I will be there for his family. I’m grateful for having met him in this life! He was straight forward and honestly had a heart full of joy, joy he was willing to share to the world, I was told he would always greet everyone he’d see and make sure they all felt welcomed. He would call me “campeón”, It was so different to me, it was heart warming to hear him say that with affection as it made me feel that he accepted me. But now I realized, he was the true champion. I love you Mr.Portillo! I promise I’ll share the moments I’ve had with you for the days that come! – Jaime F.
